At the Australian New Zealand Chinese Churches of World Evangelism Conference in 1991, delegates were inspired to establish the ministry of the Chinese theological education.
After nearly ten years of discussion and research, the delegates from Sydney finally decided to aim at building an overseas Chinese Theological College as their goal. And in 15th September 2000, the Chinese Theological College Australia was then registered as a non-profit religious institute (Inc. 9875093). Certificate programs started in the same year. Due to increased demand, the diploma programs commenced in 2006. Student recruitment for the programs of Bachelor of Ministry (BMin) and Master of Divinity (MDiv) commenced in 2010.
